Biography

Christine Debrosky has the unique ability to see and capture the transient effect of natural light, which transforms the ordinary to extraordinary. Her work has been hailed as "stirring, yet tranquil."

Christine's contemporary impressionist paintings have been selected for, and honored with awards in numerous regional, national and international exhibitions. A few are: American Impressionist International, American Women Artists invitational, Sorrento, Italy, and Santa Fe, NM, Salon du Pastel, Normandy, France, and Europastel, Italy, and St. Petersburg, Russia.

Her work is in numerous private and corporate collections, such as Pfizer Chemical, Standard & Poor's, and McGraw-Hill Inc. among others. Her pastels have been featured in The Best of Pastel, and Landscape Inspirations, Rockport Publishers, as well as in numerous articles in national and regional publications.

Listed in Who's Who in American Art, and Who's Who of American Women, she holds signature membership in the Pastel Society of America, and the Pastel Society of the West Coast, who awarded her the honor of "Distinguished Pastellist."

Having lectured, demonstrated, and taught for many arts organizations and societies, Christine is on the faculty of the Woodstock School of Art. Recently, teaching has taken her to the Tuscany region, Venice, Italy, and Burgundy, France.
