Almost every day I go for a walk in the hills near my home. My favorite time is just before sundown, with a long, raking light.
This piece started out as a demo , for a wonderful group of 60 people for the IAPS pastel convention, in Albuquerque.
sometimes it's good to put a work aside for a while, so after letting the piece "cook" for a bit, I deepened the shadows in the foreground. I had purchased some gorgeous handmade parisian pastel sticks, and couldn't resist adding the rich deep blue purples.
