A Wonderful Place to Paint

August 22, 1pm. Along forest road 525 on the way to the Honanki ruins is a spot where I like to take painting companions now and then...and just love to go myself. There is just so much inspiration here! This brilliant tree in full green just begged to be painted up against the deep red rock face. It was quite hot, but I could duck in to the shade when it got to be too uncomfortable...and a water hole is nearby. It had been for cattle, but these days the wildlife enjoy the cooling water.
