Following the Studio Sale

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I hosted a studio exhibition and sale.

I am so grateful and pleased that my hard work in preparation and promotion paid off in meeting old and new friends and collectors, and good sales.

"Campus Corner, Spring" is one of the original pieces that went to a good new home.

There is work to be done as a follow-up, and I'd like to share what I'm working on...

First of all, I sent out a group e-mail to thank the people who took the time to stop in , and of course I sent out a handwritten thank you note to those who purchased original works, along with a line or two about the piece.

Now, I am sitting down to analyze what I did, and what I could do better the next time.

Some of the things that ask myself are:

How did the hours work out...should it be longer, or shorter?

What day did most people come? ( I had a Friday evening preview, and Sat/Sunday, 10-4)

How did everyone hear about it? ( I made sure to ask when they came)

Are these existing or new collectors?

Did I provide the right amount of food, drink?

Although I was not overwhelmed with attendees, the show was absolutely worth the time, effort and expense involved, and for that I am most thankful.

Thank you for your comment.
The sale went well, and there is another open studios for the weekend of April 27-30. The spring one should be a little better than the fall, and I make sure to have a variety of work out!
