Sweet Inspiration
That seemingly elusive state of " inspiration" can come to artists in many ways.
I try to keep an open mind and heart when it comes to the creative muse...and it does not always have to be a visual image.
Whenever I come across special people who truly love what they do, and obviously care about their creations, I am reminded that is why I paint and share my vision.
We are lucky to have a very talented baker right in our little town of Clarkdale, who sells her pastries every morning right in the heart of town...in a unique little shop.
These are not just ordinary rolls and muffins...real brioche, fruit tarts and specialty muffins and cookies are among the offerings. She uses organic eggs and ( lots of) real butter. The result is absolutely heavenly! And honestly some of the very best that I have had ANYWHERE!
The web site is www.ViolettesFinePastries.com , and the daily selections are on Facebook...she is there Mon-Saturday, from 7-10.
This is the little caboose, turned gift shop where they are sold.
"Caboose Gifts", plein air oil, 12x12.
Whenever I stop in, Amber will enthusiastically explain what she has that day, and what is in each selection. When I choose, she will lovingly pack up the goodies with great care...they are her yummy " babies".
Her obvious passion for what she does is quite inspirational to me...and a lesson that I want to remember while I paint.
